"Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, 'I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,' " (Hebrews 13:5).
* The writer touches on a very real cause of much of our financial discontentment--- fear of the future. The greater our sense of security in material goods, the less our confidence in God's unseen yet faithful provision. Genuine security is found only in the Person of Jesus Christ, the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
* The Holy Spirit's command is to place our confidence for future security in our ever-present Lord rather than unstable finances. When our lives are characterized by greed, we are seeking security in things rather than in our Lord. Oh, how we need to trust Him, and discover that He really is sufficient!
