Rare Choice, These Days

As the old saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss."

I smiled when I came across this insightful counterpoint from the pen of A.W. Tozer: "I long ago decided that I would rather know the truth than be happy in ignorance. If I cannot have both the truth and happiness, give me truth. We'll have a long time to be happy in heaven."

LOL Very true. But there are circumstances when I do not WANT to know the truth. Especially in some of the cases where I really do NEED to know the truth!

Ignorance is used as an excuse for many people in today's world. The problem is that it can be dangerous. It leads to error in judgment, a blind eye, or sheer laziness. Knowledge is power. It is also responsibility.
The Truth is not always an easy burden to bear but at times, it is so much better than the alternative.

Or, as the older saying goes, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (Jn 8:24)
